Let me try this again…
So…. I fell off the blogging bandwagon only about a month into it, however, I still kept up with my diet and exercise routine and have lost over 50lbs to date!
I think one of the reasons I stopped blogging was that it began to get boring. I live a fairly mundane life and just talking about what I ate and what exercises I did, got old fast. So instead of just repeating the same things over and over again I decided to stop. I still checked tumblr every once in a while and everyone’s weight loss progress has been amazing and encouraged me to keep going! Keep up the incredible work!!
While I am no where near done on my weight loss journey, I just cannot continue to write solely about health and fitness. I’m going to try to blogging again but this time the topics will be more varied.
Like today’s rant: Summer is OVER :(
As a kid I loved summer, but I was never sad when it ended. I was the weird kid that always was way to excited for school to start back. I couldn’t wait to see my friends, meet my teachers, and get back into the routine.
However, this summer has been different… I wish it would go on just a little bit longer. I’ve been to the CMA fest in Nashville, saw the backstreet boys, got closer to my family, spend time with old friends and a old boyfriend, made new friends, changed churches and had fun! I allowed myself enjoy stuff this summer and not worry over the little stuff. I broke free of my usual routine and stopped trying to control everything. I’m sad to say summer is over and with school starting back in 2 weeks, I just hope this new attitude can continue into fall!

Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day
I have been doing good staying within my 1,200 calorie diet.. until today. We had a family get-together to celebrate my mom and one of my cousin’s birthdays. I stayed away from the chips&dip opting for fruit instead, but I could not resist a slice of my great aunt’s homemade caramel cake. It was sooo good and I enjoyed it…. then i looked up the calorie count: 500 a slice. I felt guilty!!
If the cake wasn’t enough.. supper tonight was FRIED deer steak. I only ate 4 bite sizes pieces but I know that is not on the diet plan.
No more of this insanity tomorrow!!
On a positive note I have met one of my goals and have lost over 15lbs.. now it’s time for a new goal: -25 lbs by Valentine’s day!!
I know I have been a lazy blogger lately, but I haven’t slowed down on my diet/exercise. As of this morning I was down 16 lbs in one month! Because my weight loss and that I’m going out of town next weekend I decided to treat myself by getting my nails done and a pedicure. It was wonderful and way too expensive.
I have eaten a lot of lean cuisines over the past week. I know they are not the healthiest thing to eat, but the fact they are ready in 5 minutes has been outweighing their high sodium content. I did do a little cooking this week and made a delicious and around 300 calorie Canadian bacon and pineapple pizza.
I’m ready for daylight saving time to begin, then I’m going to get serious about walking/jogging. Until then I will just keep going to Curves 4x a week.
I will definitely try to blog more this week and maybe add some pictures.
The last few days have been quite busy. I spent my day off yesterday doing some shopping at the mall…which I think should be considered a new form of exercise, not only for my debit card, but also all the walking I did from one end of the mall to the other. I did not stop at the food court or fast food instead I brought a pack of raisins and a bottle of water with me. After my shopping spree, I went to Curves. I will admit I haven’t walking lately because it has been raining, but i have been using the Wii Fit. I’m sure how effective the Wii actually is, but it is a lot of fun.
I have gotten into a breakfast rut…I have eaten scrambled egg whites and salsa with orange juice for the past couple weeks… What else can I do with liquid egg whites for breakfast?!?
I love my job, but dealing with middle schoolers all day is exhausting, this afternoon I was soo tired. I wanted to crawl in bed and take a 3 hour nap. But I didn’t instead I put on my tennis shoes and headed to Curves. Because of the rain I was the only one on the circuit for about 15 minutes. It was nice. I think it workout harder when I am alone than when there is a bunch of other people in there. I am officially down 12 lbs in two weeks!! that’s just more motivation to keep going.
I never thought I would say this but my favorite thing to do now is calorie count.. I have a my fitness pal account and I use it kinda like a game. I like to see many calories I can exercise way to use for later.. I pretty much put everything i eat down in the diary.. even mints..feel free to friend me, my username on there is brownie601 (I know that’s really great username for a diet blog)
I will admit that I am a complusive shopper and a one tracked minded person, so when I had the idea to get an exercise ball I pretty must immediately when to Walmart. I ended up getting pilates kit that had the exercise ball, resistance bands, 2-2lb hand weights and an instructional DVD. I tried it out Thursday night and most exercises on the dvd were some variation of a sit-up. Does any one know of any other exercises that can be done with an exercises ball??
After some encouragement from another fitblr today, I started walking! I did a mile, I would have walked more but I took my puppy(a 7lb morkie) with me and she was about to give out, I actually had to carry her some of the way.
I went Applebee’s for dinner tonight with some friends and got one of the under 550 calories meals. I tried the grilled Dijon Chicken with portabella mushrooms, it was really good, it was hard to believe it was only 450 calories!
Dieting is hard…I haven’t been too bad this week but it has been a challenge to stay at or under my calorie goal for each day. I weighted this morning and I was down 7.5 lbs. However, in celebration I have 2 slices of Domino’s Pizza for lunch.
I WILL be working it off at Curves today, but I still feel guilty about eating it. I have been going to Curves everyday, but i have not started doing any walking yet. It is just too cold outside, but I do use the wii to do Zumba and wii fit.
I know I am only a week and a half into this, but I am losing motivation fast!
Lazy Weekend..
This weekend wasn’t to bad. I didn’t go out to eat at all but I still managed to go a little over my calories for both Saturday and Sunday.
I didn’t get to exercise much. I did some Zumba on the Wii and while i am on this topic let me just say Zumba is exhausting. I’m glad I have it in a game form because if I just had the DVD, I would give up in the first five minutes. Another issue I have with Zumba is my lack of coordination. It’s a mess, she steps with her right foot, I step with my left. Does any one else have this problem?!?
I didn’t get to walk this weekend either because we are having a ice storm, which means it freezing and wet. Everything closes because no one in the south knows how to drive in ice.(I don’t) However, on a positive note I don’t have to go to work tomorrow! I just hope Curves is open in the afternoon.
I’m new to tumblr, so i’m not sure i’m posting this right but i’m looking for good recipes. What can i do with Chicken breast and rotel? and Any idea’s on how to fix Tilapia? Let me know if you have any suggestions!
Today was an “ok” day… I had some egg whites and salsa for breakfast. Then I went to the grocery store. I resisted the temptation of cakes, cookies and pizza and bought veggies, a little fruit and yogurt..
My iphone decided that it wasn’t going to make calls or send text this morning, so i spend about an hour on the phone with At&t troobleshooting it.. Finally It decided to cooperate. I didn’t have time to fix lunch to a opted for “healthy” fast food. A small chili and side salad at Wendy’s. According to the website that meal has only 440 calories. However, the gave me pomegranate vinaigrette dressing instead of Italian which I thought was way too sweet for a salad.
Feeling slightly guilty for eating out I went to Curves for the 5th time this week! After my workout I had to get ready to go to a friends Tupperware party. My friends lives about 40 minutes away from me in a rural area. The party started at 6:30. Another one of my friends and I left at 5:30, we got lost on the country roads and didn’t make it to the party until 7:30.. I WAS STARVING!!
At the party they had sandwich tray from subway and mini cupcakes and coke, I know i shouldn’t have but i had 2 of the about 3 inch sandwiches and I got two mini cupcakes and since there was no water I had to drink a half a glass of coke. Luckily, the cupcakes weren’t that good, so i only ate one and threw the other away saving a few calories. I have only been on this diet a week.. i just don’t want anything to mess me up this soon!
Tomorrow, I am going to start walking, hopefully a mile maybe doing a little jogging too!
I’m weighing Monday.. can’t wait to see if i’ve had any change this week!
